Watertown's node formed in January of 2016. We are a member of an active local group called Watertown Citizens for Peace, Justice and the Environment as well as 350 Mass. We initially worked to pass a 100% Renewable Energy by 2040 resolution which we can now refer back to when we are pushing for GHG reducing measures. We have worked to make sure that we have Net Zero schools, passed a CCA, are pressing for organic waste pickup and the creation of a robust Climate Action Plan, passed the state's first Solar Ordinance, and are pressing to have new development in town preserve or add to our tree canopy, bike access and build to Net Zero standards or commit to buying offsite renewable energy if necessary.
