Update 4/11/22

Our team has been hard at work parsing through the Senate's Climate Omnibus Bill and working with our coalition partners and allies to draft amendments that strengthen this bill. Amendments are due today at 3pm, so in the rush we will CANCEL this actionar. We have two immediate next steps:

1. Join us at 4pm for an Info Session led by Cabell Eames, the 350 Mass Political Director. RSVP here: https://350mass.betterfutureproject.org/omnibus_info_411
2. Tomorrow, 4/12 at 2:30PM we will join the Mass Power Forward Coalition in a call-in day to senators to support our amendments. More info can be found on their facebook event page.
3. Look out for further invitations to call, text, email the legislature. We know our bills will only move forward when we show the power of the grassroots!

Things are moving quickly! The Senate has released a Climate Omnibus Bill, and 350 Mass members, our coalition partners, and our allies across the movement are reading, reflecting, and strategizing now. This means that the target and tactic for this actionar are subject to change. Hold this time in your calendar, and look out for updates!

As Putin's invasion of Russia's neighbor, funded by its massive exports of oil and gas to Europe, devastates Ukraine, much of the rest of the world recoils in horror. Many of us believe that the ongoing crisis presents yet one more example of why we need to wean ourselves immediately off of fossil fuels. Gas company executives, on the other hand, have exploited Putin's war as another opportunity to increase their profits. Here in Massachusetts, the gas companies have raised gas prices and are working systematically to develop policies to insinuate gas into our lives now and for the foreseeable future. We must stop them.

Join us at 12:30 on Monday, April 11 for a 45-minute follow up to our March actionar "The Gas Companies Are Gaslighting Us." During this time we will call our senators and urge them to stop the gas industry's hijacking of the 2021 Next Generation Climate Roadmap Law.
