With our money in hand, utilities like Eversource, National Grid, and Berkshire Gas are attempting to increase our reliance on expensive and polluting fossil fuels, destroying our health and our planet.

These utilities spend millions of dollars a year lobbying Massachusetts legislators to cut back on climate goals and allow them to keep polluting as much as possible.
On June 10th, 350 Mass is joining Mass Power Forward, the largest coalition of climate and environmental justice groups, for a statewide day of action with three locations across MA asking legislators to pass a climate bill that puts people over utility profits and hold utilities accountable. On June 10th, legislators will have just 50 days to pass climate legislation to help make energy clean and affordable.
In Pittsfield, we will meet at Allendale Plaza at 1pm and walk the short block together to rally outside of Berkshire Gas. Berkshire Gas is owned by Avangrid, a multibillion dollar energy company, and is attempting to raise rates by up to 26%. They have no real decarbonization plan, and they want to buy more expensive gas from the Everett Marine Terminal, increasing energy prices even more.
