Dear Governor Baker,

On behalf of 350 Massachusetts (“350 Mass”) – a statewide, grassroots, member-led network committed to a just transition for a climate-safe world – I ask that you sign H.5060, An Act driving clean energy and offshore wind, into law without delay.

By signing this landmark climate bill, Massachusetts can catalyze economic development and wind technology in our state and lead the nationwide fight against climate change. We are lucky to have lawmakers and other leaders such as yourself in our Commonwealth who work diligently to avoid partisan paralysis. In this moment of dysfunction and disarray at the federal level, we have the opportunity to be a beacon of hope for other states.

We can no longer wait to take action in addressing the climate crisis. Our beautiful Bay State is already experiencing an unprecedented drought and deadly heat extremes for our most vulnerable populations. We must act now to ward off the most catastrophic effects of climate change. This bill is a necessary next step, building on the landmark climate bill you signed into law last year.
