Rep. Mark Cusack, House chair of the Telecommunications, Utilities and Energy (TUE) committee has gone on record in the Commonwealth Beacon (See here) in support of rolling back our legislated commitment to reduce statewide greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030. He claims that as we pursue energy affordability and deal with loss of federal funds, we are likely to fail to meet climate goals, and that could create some political problems. Join us and our climate movement allies to say that energy affordability and climate progress go hand in hand!

Make your voice heard this Thursday, Nov 13 at 12:30 at the State House for a 1pm hearing to support protecting communities from pollution and getting off fossil fuels. S.2290/H.3547 An Act Preventing Gas Expansion To Protect Climate, Community Health And Safety is a 350 Mass and Mass Power Forward coalition priority bill. It will prevent new large gas pipelines and power plants from being approved within five miles of environmental justice communities. These projects would increase pollution burdens on already struggling neighborhoods, threaten our climate mandates, and drive up costs for all ratepayers. We need a massive show of support to demonstrate the urgency of this issue. Please join us in person and make your presence felt!
